The wreckage of the Mi-8 helicopter that crashed in Lake Kurilsk has been found at a depth of 100 to 111 meters at the bottom of the lake, said Sorodov, governor of Russia’s Kamchatka Krai region, local time, RIA Novosti reported.
The tail of the helicopter was damaged and the cabin part was completely preserved. The next step will be to inspect and salvage the wreckage of the helicopter.
On the 12th local time, a Mi-8 helicopter crashed in Lake Kurilsk in the southern Kamchatka Krai region, killing eight of the 16 people on board and 8 others unaccounted for.
