May 18th 2021 A man killed himself by cutting his throat and killing himself after hearing “bad news” from a judge in a courthouse in Fargo, southeastern North Dakota, on the afternoon of May 17, local time. The FBI is now investigating the matter.
Local police said the incident occurred before the man was partially convicted and faces terrorism-related charges, the Associated Press reported Wednesday. Witnesses said the man learned of the “bad news” from the judge and cut his throat with a sharp instrument made of pen or plastic. At that time, District Judge Welter, court staff, etc. witnessed the incident, court security and other attempts to take measures, but ultimately to no avail.
Smith, an FBI spokesman, said one of the charges the man faced was found guilty and “the man self-harmed after hearing the verdict and the jury left the courtroom.” He said the FBI had launched an investigation: “We need to formally document what happened in federal court today.” Sharp objects are what they are, how they get into the courtroom, and what he is seen doing. All these issues are under investigation.
