Ukraine’s independent news agency reported on the 18th local time, the British patrol ship “HMS Trent” visited the southern Ukrainian port of Odessa, and will stay here until June 4.
Ukrainian media reported that the ship, one of the latest british naval vessels, entered service in August 2020 with a displacement of more than 2,000 tons, 90 meters long and 13 meters wide.
Since April 2021, Trent has been carrying out counter-terrorism and anti-smuggling and piracy missions in the Mediterranean and Gulf of Guinea. The Trent entered the waters of the Black Sea on 16 May as tensions escalated in the Arso Strait and the Black Sea.
Russia’s Black Sea fleet began closely monitoring the British navy patrol ship Trent after it entered the Black Sea, the Russian Defense Command Center said on May 16.
