May 17, russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia proposed the resumption of regular meetings of the chiefs of staff of the Armed Forces of the Arctic Council and proposed that a meeting at the level of military experts could be held first.
Lavrov said the mechanism for regular meetings of the chiefs of staff of the Armed Forces of the Arctic Council had worked, but the West decided to suspend it about seven years ago.
