At about 2100 hours local time on 11 May, several rockets were fired from the Palestinian Gaza Strip into Tel Aviv and surrounding towns in Israel, killing one woman and wounding three others.
Israel’s Ben Gurion airport has reportedly been closed due to the escalation of the Israeli-Palestinian armed conflict. It is unclear how long the airport will be closed and some flights will be diverted to Cyprus and Greece. The Israeli Airport Authority said in a statement that Ben Gurion airport was closed “to protect Israel’s skies.”
Palestinian militant group Hamas told the media that Hamas fired a total of 130 rockets as Israeli warplanes blew up a 13-story residential building in Gaza earlier in the day, the most violent blow yet to Israel.
