Under climate law, net greenhouse gas emissions from the EU will be reduced by at least 55 per cent by 2030 from 1990 levels; In addition, the EU proposes to set an EU-wide trajectory for reducing greenhouse gas emissions between 2030 and 2050 to measure progress.
The full Assembly of the European Parliament is expected to vote on the bill in June, when it is passed and the law takes effect.
