Russia held a grand military parade in Moscow’s Red Square on the 9th to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the victory of the Patriotic War. More than 12,000 Russian military personnel were inspected, and all of them were vaccinated against coronavirus.
Speaking at the military parade, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Victory Day is a sacred holiday for the Russian people and of great historical significance to the world. He added that the current rise in Nazi consciousness and the attempts of its followers to rewrite history. Russia will firmly defend its national interests.
The weapons and equipment reviewed on the same day included T-34 tanks during the Patriotic War, Russia’s latest T-14 “Amata” main battle tank, “Kurgan-25” infantry combat vehicles, Soyuz-SV armored self-propelled howitzers and so on. During the air parade, a total of 76 helicopters, bombers, transport aircraft, early warning aircraft, aerial refueling aircraft, fighter aircraft and other formations flew over Red Square, the flight formation also included the famous “Swift” and “Russian Warrior” flight performance team.
In addition to Moscow, 27 Russian cities, including St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad and Vladivostok, also held military parades of different sizes on the same day.
