Kabul police said in a statement, local time at around 4:30 pm, Kabul City, the 13th police district near a school explosion, has killed 27 people, at least 52 injured, the number of casualties may rise. In addition to school students and parents, passers-by were among the casualties.
Dastyari Nazari, a spokesman for the Ministry of Public Health, told the media that the casualties had been taken to the nearest hospital.
Eyewitness Mohammed Jafar told Xinhua: “I heard a huge explosion as the students were leaving school and smoke was rising in the sky. “The scene of the explosion has been cordoned off after police and ambulances arrived.
No group or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the day’s bombing.
U.S. and NATO troops officially began withdrawing from Afghanistan on May 1 and are scheduled to do so by September 11. Recently, the security situation has deteriorated as attacks continue in Afghanistan.
