HONG KONG, May 8 2021 An Indian man in Hong Kong has been diagnosed with a variant coronavirus, and it took him more than half a month to admit to taking part in parties and other trips, infecting at least seven people and temporarily closing a building he once visited.

Hong Kong has so far found 10 confirmed cases of mutated virus, seven of which are related to Indian men. Hong Kong’s legal profession believes that if it is confirmed that someone deliberately concealed his itinerary, leading to a outbreak, he may consider sentencing those responsible to imprisonment.
It is reported that the 29-year-old Indian man was confirmed on April 17 to start the outbreak in Hong Kong. The mass infection involved the Indian man himself and his girlfriend, three Filipino domestic helpers and two employers of one of them.
After the Indian man and his girlfriend were diagnosed, they did not fully report their whereabouts to the Hong Kong Department of Health until this week, when it was revealed that they had been to Tung Chung Dong District on 11 April and had been to a gathering of friends and relatives two days later. A related building was temporarily closed on the 5th.
On the other hand, the imported infected persons found on 7 April arrived in Hong Kong from India and have been living with five family members of their employers, having visited the Hong Kong Immigration Department Office, the Jotun Meta-American Medical Examination Centre and Tai Po Plaza.
She had tested negative on four previous tests and was not detected to be infected with the coronavirus until May 5. The Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection estimated that she had been infected before she arrived in Hong Kong.
