According to local media reported on May 3rd, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian will visit Lebanon on the 5th of this month.
During his visit, Lederion will hold talks with Lebanese leaders with a view to restarting the deadlocked French initiative and speeding up the formation of a new Lebanese government to prevent a full-blown economic collapse and political crisis in the country.
At the end of October 2020, Saad Hariri was authorized by the President to form a new Government of Lebanon, committing himself to implementing fundamental reforms in various fields, in accordance with the French initiative.
But in the past few months, tensions between Lebanese factions, particularly President Aoun and Hariri, have intensified, making the cabinet list difficult and the process of forming a cabinet deadlocked.
