At least three towns in northeastern Mississippi were hit by severe weather on the evening of May 2, local time, with buildings, power lines and trees damaged to varying degrees, with more than a third of Calhoun residents suffering from power outages, according to U.S. media reports. It is reported that emergency workers have arrived at the scene to carry out rescue and damage assessment, there are no casualties.
According to the weather service forecast, the next round of severe weather will start in southern Mississippi on the evening of the 3rd, moving eastward. Previously affected areas may continue to be affected, but the center of the storm on the 3rd may be in Oklahoma to Indiana, when there may be tornadoes, hail and other meteorological disasters.
