Russian Sputnik news agency reported on April 30 that Vadim Lukasevic, an expert in Russian aerospace science, said the Russian military would be able to use the new Russian orbiting service station to conduct experiments currently not allowed on the International Space Station.
“Military applications cannot be tested on the International Space Station at this time because there has always been a foreign presence there, and on the Mir space station, an orbital space station built by the Soviet Union, we had a module that could be used for military applications,” Lukasevic said.

Lukasevic added that all missions previously required to be performed on the Diamond series of military manned space stations can now be automated by spacecraft.
One advantage of the previous manned space station over the automated spacecraft was that it gave the satellite a mission to shoot a specific area, and then threw the film-mounted capsule to Earth, where astronauts could maneuver to choose their own target. The expert also mentioned that current communications with and data transmission from satellites were conducted online and that the task was therefore becoming unsuspiring for the new space station.
According to previous Russian media reports, Russia will withdraw from the International Space Station project in 2025 and start construction of a new Russian orbiting service station, which is planned to be deployed to an altitude of 300-400 km, with an inclination of 96.8-98 degrees.
