May 1 2021 The home of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s former personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, has been searched by federal investigators, U.S. Chinese reported. Federal prosecutors in Manhattan are seeking to review Giuliani’s dealings with a group of former Ukrainian officials to determine whether Giuliani’s push to fire the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine was illegal, the sources said.
Federal investigators reportedly searched Giuliani’s apartment and office in New York City on April 28 for evidence related to the firing of former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Mary Jovanovic, including Giuliani’s dealings with former Ukrainian officials.
The search warrant also seeks Giuliani’s correspondence with any U.S. government officials involved in the matter, as well as those with whom he cooperated.
In the spring of 2019, Mr. Trump ordered Mr. Jovanovic’s firing, a move that Mr. Giuliani pushed hard, according to reports.
In 2019, two of Giuliani’s associates, Lev Panas and Igor Froman, are accused of campaign finance fraud for allegedly sending money to U.S. politicians to influence U.S.-Ukrainian relations. Both Panas and Furuman met with Giuliani and briefed him on Ukrainian officials. But none of them pleaded guilty.
The search warrant also seeks evidence from Ukraine’s investigation into the Bidens’ activities in the country, people familiar with the matter said. The Wall Street Journal reported that federal prosecutors suspect that Giuliani’s efforts to oust Jovanovic were made at the request of Ukrainian officials in exchange for “black material” about the Bidens.
Giuliani has been under investigation by federal prosecutors in Manhattan for more than a year, but this week’s search and removal of his electronic devices is a significant development.
The investigation is looking into whether Giuliani had engaged in undisclosed foreign lobbying for Ukrainian officials while seeking to expel the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, and whether Giuliani had investigated the Bidens for his own personal gain.
Giuliani denies having served as a lobbyist or agent for a foreign government. “From the moment I stopped being mayor of New York, I didn’t want to lobby.” He said on Fox News. “And I can prove it.” Please give me a chance. ”
