Belarus has applied to the U.S. Judiciary for legal aid in the country’s insurgency and assassination of the president, a spokesman for the National Security Council of Belarus said on April 30.
The National Security Council of Belarus had previously announced that nine people, three of them in the United States, had been charged under the country’s law with involvement in the planning of the rebellion.
White asked the United States to determine the location of these persons, to interrogate them, and to conduct other investigations and trial activities in the case. At the same time, Belarus had submitted an extradition application to the United States for those persons.
On 17 April, President Lukashenko of Belarus announced that the country had arrested a group of people who planned to assassinate himself and his children. Lukashenko said U.S. intelligence was involved in the incident.
