April 30 2021 The foreign ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan held consultations on the conflict in the border area between the two countries on April 29 and reached a comprehensive ceasefire agreement.
Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 29th, on the 28th to 29th of the Gita border incident, Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Minister Kazakbayev and Ta Foreign Minister Muhridin held talks. The two sides discussed further joint actions to resolve the situation in the border areas between the two countries.
Tajikistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on the evening of the 29th that representatives of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan held a working meeting on armed conflict in the border areas. The two sides reached an agreement to end the armed conflict, withdraw military equipment and related personnel, take measures to prevent the escalation of tensions and establish a joint working group composed of law enforcement and administrative personnel of the two countries.
