According to the Interfax news agency, on April 29, local time, Kyrgyzstan’s National Security Council Border Service press department issued a briefing that the border with Tajikistan, the two sides of the conflict has escalated, several Kyrgyz residents have been injured.
The briefing said that at 4:40 local time on the 29th, the residents of the tower began shooting at passing vehicles in Jifang with shotguns, while throwing stones at the residents of jifang and their houses nearby, resulting in injuries. Ji did not disclose the exact number of injuries, but said one person was shot in the eye, serious injuries, is being treated.
In view of the escalation of the situation, the Kyrgyz side has declared a state of emergency in parts of the border with the tower to prevent the situation from deteriorating. At present, the media has not reported the tower side on the incident statement.
It is reported that the cause of the conflict between the two sides is Tajikistan’s relevant personnel 28 in the border area between the two countries on the installation of telephone cameras on the poles. Kyrgyzstan’s border services objected and called for the installation to stop. Subsequently, physical clashes broke out between residents of the two countries living in the border areas. The Kyrgyz side said three local residents were injured that day.
The border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan is approximately 972 kilometres long, of which 375 kilometres are unexasced. This has led to frequent disputes and conflicts between residents of the two countries over infrastructure construction and water use in the border areas.
