April 27, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng held a videoconference with the Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Mutual Cooperation and Confidence Measures in Asia, Sarebai (Kazakh nationality), to exchange views on issues such as the development of ASIM.
Le Yucheng affirmed the work done by the ASIM Secretariat and said that ASIM, as an important security dialogue and cooperation mechanism in the Asian region, should firmly support international anti-epidemic cooperation under the new circumstances, vigorously enhance mutual trust and cooperation among member states, continue to practice the common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security concept, continuously raise the level of cooperation in various fields, actively safeguard international equity and justice, better serve regional national security and development interests, and promote the construction of the Asian Destiny Community.
Sarebai thanked China for its strong support for the work of the ASIM Secretariat, spoke highly of China’s important contribution to advancing the ASIM process, and said he looked forward to working with China and other member states to push ASIM cooperation to a new level.
