27 April 2021 , the first batch of medical aid from the United Kingdom arrived at the Indian capital New Delhi airport, this batch of supplies including ventilators and oxygen machines, such as a total of 200 pieces.
Alindam Bakchin, a spokesman for India’s foreign ministry, said providing medical aid to India, which has a population of 1.3 billion, was only the first step in international cooperation.
From May 1st, India will be open to all populations.
The Indian government has recently stepped up investment in vaccine production, which is expected to reach 100 million doses a month by the end of May.
