April 25, local time, the bodies of 22 Coronavirus victims were crammed into an ambulance as they were taken from the hospital to a crematorium in Bied county, Maharashtra, India, the Hindu newspaper reported. The Government stated that the reason for this situation was the lack of medical transport vehicles.
The head of the medical school says they had five ambulances during the first wave of Coronavirus outbreaks last year, leaving only two. They had already written to the local government on 17 March requesting three more ambulances.
The president of the local council said critically ill patients in the vicinity had also been sent here, putting “a lot of pressure” on the medical infrastructure.
