October 22. According to Kyodo News, the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committee disclosed to the media in Tokyo on the 21st that spectators passed the demonstration test of the
luggage security area operation when they entered the stadium. The Olympic Organizing Committee will discuss countermeasures during the Olympics based on the test results.
On March 24, local time, the International Olympic Committee and the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee issued a joint statement stating that in view of the current epidemic situation, the 32nd
Tokyo Olympic Games needs to be rescheduled to after 2020, but not later than the summer of 2021. The picture shows the countdown electronic clock for the Olympic Games in front of Tokyo Station in Japan on March 25.
The countdown electronic clock no longer displays the countdown numbers, but is replaced with the day’s date and real time.
According to reports, as a countermeasure against the new coronavirus, relevant personnel have tested three methods for detecting body temperature when entering the venue, including thermal imaging camera temperature measurement, non-contact clinical thermometer, and a “temperature measurement sticker” that can be attached to the wrist to know whether it is fever.
Waiting in line to test the method with an interval of 1 to
1.5 meters, the security personnel tested wear masks and protective masks.
According to reports, the three-day test was attended by 16 security
guards from a joint venture (JV) formed by private security companies. The procedures were trained using portal metal detectors and X-ray security inspection devices.
Tanno Kozue (34 years old) who participated in the test said with great enthusiasm:
“In order to practice a very high level of security from the first day (Olympics),
I hope to return to each company to carry out training.”
In addition, the Olympic Organizing Committee believes that keeping baggage to a minimum will help shorten the security check time. Therefore, it uses the slogan
“There is no pressure on the baggage when entering the venue” to appeal to those present to assist.
Security Chief Iwashita emphatically stated: “Since the Olympic Games are held in the hot summer
a smooth admission is also essential for the prevention of heat stroke.”
Affected by the new crown epidemic, the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games
originally scheduled to debut in July 2020, have been postponed to July 23 and August 24, 2021, respectively.
