April 24 An accident in Madhya Pradesh, India, failed to properly dispose of the remains of patients in Coronavirus on Wednesday. An ambulance left the hospital in a hurry, causing a body to fall from the vehicle, prompting protests from family members.
The incident took place outside the Vajpayee Government Medical School, India Today reported. Video from the scene showed an ambulance wobbling out of the hospital with its rear window broken.
During the turn, the driver accelerated, causing one of the ambulance doors to fall off and a body to be thrown out with the door and fall to the ground. It was not immediately clear how many bodies were in the ambulance at the time of the accident.
Subsequently, relatives of other patients with new coronary pneumonia outside the hospital immediately rushed to protest the way the hospital treated patients.
Families waiting outside the hospital said the hospital did not hand over the remains of relatives in time and sometimes did not even inform them of the patient’s death.
“My relative died, but the hospital didn’t provide any details,” Prakash said. We don’t know if he died tonight or yesterday, no one told us we had been waiting outside the hospital for four to five hours.
