21 April 2021 Colombian President Duke announced that the government will allow the private sector to import and purchase Coronavirus vaccine. Duke stressed that the enterprise or unit concerned is required to apply to the Colombian National Drug and Food Administration for a permit and bear the costs.
In addition, these Coronavirus vaccines for emergency use may only be provided free of charge to individuals with a labour or contractual relationship with the enterprise or unit, in compliance with the provisions of the National Vaccination Plan.
On the same day, Pfizer Co., Ltd.’s Columbia division issued a statement saying that the company’s current production of vaccines priority to the national government, not for private sales.
Colombia’s Ministry of Health released a report on the 21st, the country’s cumulative number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus reached 2701,313 cases, a cumulative total of 69,596 deaths, a cumulative recovery of 2521,944 cases.
