WHO: The number of new cases of Coronavirus pandemic worldwide continues to increase, approaching the highest infection rate level

April 16th, local time, WHO held a regular briefing on Coronavirus pandemic, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom said that the global Coronavirus pandemic confirmed cases and new deaths continue to increase at a worrying rate

in the past two months, the number of new cases per week almost doubled, has been close to the outbreak since the highest infection rate level.

In countries that have avoided widespread transmission of the virus, there has also been a sharp increase in new infections.

Tedros Adhanom also said WHO had convened its seventh meeting of the Emergency Committee on Coronavirus pandemic on April 15 and would submit its recommendations next Monday (19th).
