BAGHDAD, April 15 Five people were killed and 21 injured in a car bomb attack in the Iraqi capital Baghdad that afternoon, Iraqi Interior Ministry officials said Thursday.
An Iraqi Interior Ministry official, speaking to Xinhua on condition of anonymity, said the location of the car bomb attack was near a crowded market in Sadr City, on the eastern outskirts of Baghdad, near the site of the incident, shops and vehicles were also damaged to varying degrees.
No group or individual has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
In December 2017, Iraq declared a historic victory against the extremist group Islamic State, but there are still some extremists in Iraq who are waiting for an attack. On January 21 this year, Islamic State militants carried out two suicide bombings in downtown Baghdad, killing 32 people and wounding 110 others.
