According to Yomiuri Shimbun, Japan, on April 12, a woman working at the Ishikawa Prefectural Central Hospital (Kazawa City) in Japan, was diagnosed with COVID-19 after completing two doses of coronavirus vaccination.
It is reported that the woman was vaccinated against the novel coronavirus on March 13 and April 3. She was then tested as a close contact with COVID-19, and on April 10, she tested positive. The woman is an asymptomatic infected person.
This is the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Japan after completing two doses of COVID-19 vaccination.
The head of Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare said that vaccination can reduce the risk of infection, but it does not mean that the risk of infection is zero. After vaccination, pandemic prevention measures need to continue to be taken.
