Abuja, April 9 The Nigerian military confirmed on the evening of the 8th that 11 soldiers of the Nepal Army were attacked and killed by unidentified militants while on a mission in central Benue State.
Army spokesman Mohamed Yerima issued a statement on the evening of the 8th, saying that a military officer and 10 soldiers disappeared after being attacked by armed elements while carrying out daily operations in Benue State. Search and rescue personnel subsequently found the bodies of the 11 soldiers in the Koonshisha district of the state.
Yelima said that the military was chasing the murderer. He also said that the military’s determination to combat criminal activities will not waver.
In recent months, there have been a lot of armed attacks in Nigeria, causing a large number of casualties and property damage, in addition to many abductions against students and foreign citizens.
