Russian Federal Security Service thwarted terrorist attacks against Crimea

April 9th, local time, the Russian Federal Security Service announced that Russia’s powerful department recently arrested two suspects who attempted to launch terrorist attacks in the city of Simferopol in Crimea.

Both suspects are of Russian nationality. They planned to launch a terrorist attack on a bomb planted in an educational institution in the city of Simferopol.

Law enforcement officials seized explosives, explosive device parts and evidence of dealings with terrorist organizations in their homes.

According to the suspects, they planned to flee Russia immediately after committing the crime and go to Syria to join local extremist religious organizations.
