April 8th – Texas woman Ayanna Williams, the Guinness World Record for the longest fingernails on both hands, recently cut her nails for the first time in 30 years. She broke her record for the last time before cutting her nails.
According to UPI on the 7th, Williams first set the record in 2017, when her total length of nails was 226.9 inches (about 5.8 meters). She measured it again before cutting her nails, setting a new record of 288.8 inches (about 7.3 meters).
Williams’ nails are reportedly on display at a museum in Florida. Williams said, “It feels like my wax figure. It’s just my nails, but the display will be great.” Williams believes that this is the history she left to her children and grandchildren, which is “very exciting”.
