After Akshay Kumar, a well-known Indian film star, confirmed that he was diagnosed with COVID-19 on the 4th, 45 more staff members of his film crew tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
According to India Newspaper Trust on the 5th, diebn tiwari, president of the West India Film Employees Federation, said that nearly 100 staff members of Kumar’s action film crew originally planned to shoot in Madd from the 5th, but after compulsory coronavirus testing, a total of 45 people were found to have contracted COVID-19, 40 of whom were junior actors, and the rest were Kumar’s makeup team and his assistants. At present, filming has been suspended indefinitely.
Indian media pointed out that Kumar was found to have tested positive for the novel coronavirus five days after he began shooting the action film. He is a well-known film actor in India and a popular action movie star in Bollywood. Kumar said he was admitted to the hospital one day after learning that he had tested positive as a precautionary measure. After the diagnosis, he also urged everyone in contact with him to do a test.
