Ugat said that about 40% of the confirmed cases in the capital Lima were infected with the first Variant novel coronavirus in Brazil, including 63% infection rate in the eastern part of Lima and about 50% in the Madred Dios region in the southeast of the country.
Ugat stressed that due to the approach of the general election in Peru, the Ministry of Health has worked with the national electoral institutions to formulate a series of measures, such as increasing the number of polling stations and extending the voting time, to ensure the safe and orderly voting of voters and the smooth conduct of the general election.
On the 4th local time, the Peruvian Ministry of Health issued an announcement saying that in order to achieve a better effect for the COVID-19 vaccination program and better respond to the needs and expectations of the people, the government intends to include all people in high-risk areas from April 16.
