According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, on the evening of February 26th local time, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Khatibzadeh said in a statement that the illegal and aggressive attacks by the U.S. military on certain areas of eastern Syria were flagrant violations of human rights and international law, which Iran strongly condemned.
Khatibzadeh stressed that this attack is a continuation of Israel’s continued aggression against Syrian territory.
In recent years, the U.S. military has illegally entered Syria and occupied parts of the country, and has been stealing its natural resources, including oil, in violation of the rights of the Syrian people.
In addition, Khatibzadeh said that the illegal bases of the United States in Syria are training terrorists and using them as tools.
He pointed out that this move of the new U.S. government flagrantly violates Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and international law, which will exacerbate the military conflict and further destabilize the region.
It is understood that the U.S. Department of Defense issued a statement on the 25th that the U.S. military launched air strikes on Iranian-backed militia targets in eastern Syria earlier that day, destroying many facilities.
