According to a report by the Russian Sputnik News Agency on February 23, the first batch of “Sputnik-V” coronavirus vaccines have arrived in Mexico.
Mexican Foreign Minister Eblad and Russian Ambassador to Mexico Koronelli picked up the plane at the airport.
Speaking after the arrival of the first batch of preparations, Eblad said he thanked Russia for supplying vaccines.
According to the Mexican government, the first vaccine includes 200,000 doses and will be used for immunization among residents over 60 years old.
The total supply expected by the government is 24 million doses of vaccine.
Mexico’s Ministry of Health intends to start vaccination with Russian preparations on February 23.
