February 19 – The state of Hawaii is developing a plan to issue “vaccine passports” to people who have been vaccinated with full doses of coronavirus vaccine, allowing them to travel to the state without isolation.
According to Fox News on the 18th, Hawaii Governor Josh Green told the local media Hawaii Today News that the “vaccine passport” is expected to be first issued to front-line workers who have been vaccinated with full doses of the coronavirus vaccine, and can be implemented as early as March 1.
Green said the state hopes that vaccinated Hawaiians can also join the program and travel to other islands by April 1.
Tourists from the mainland of the United States who have been fully vaccinated can get a “vaccine passport” by May 1. This is our way to quickly restore the economy, so we may usher in a large increase in tourists by this autumn.”
At present, some tourists to Hawaii do not need to quarantine for 10 days. Hawaii has established a partnership with the technology platform CLEAR.
Visitors can register their certification results on CLEAR’s health pass within 72 hours of their trip to Hawaii, so that they do not need to quarantine.
