The FBI and the Federal Attorney’s Office are investigating Cuomo’s question of concealing the death toll in nursing homes, according to people familiar with the matter.
The investigation is in its early stages and will focus on Cuomo’s COVID-19 task force.
Speaking of the investigation, Azepardi, Como’s senior adviser, said: “As we have made public information, the U.S. Department of Justice has been investigating for several months.

At present, the FBI refuses to comment.
Cuomo recently held a press conference, at which he insisted that the state government just released information in time and did not hide the report.
In late January, New York State Attorney General James released a report that found that the New York State Department of Health underestimated about 50% of the coronavirus deaths in nursing homes.
The New York State government then raised the total number of deaths of nursing home residents by thousands.
