President Al Nahyan wrote: “The first image of Mars transmitted by the hope that the probe is a decisive moment in our history, marking the United Arab Emirates joining the ranks of advanced countries involved in space exploration.”
Dubai Chief Mohammed wrote: “This is a picture taken by the rover at a distance of 25,000 kilometers from Mars.
This is the first photo of Mars taken by the UAE probe in history.” After half a year, the Hope probe flew nearly 500 million kilometers and entered Mars orbit at 19:40 local time on February 9 in the United Arab Emirates, making the United Arab Emirates the fifth country to reach Mars.
Hope was launched from the Tanegashima Cosmic Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan on July 20, 2020.
Hope’s main mission is to study the daily and seasonal changes of the climate and atmosphere of Mars.
After the first astronaut of the United Arab Emirates, Haza Mansuri, entered the International Space Station in 2019, the United Arab Emirates began to vigorously develop the space industry.
At present, the United Arab Emirates is selecting a new group of astronaut candidates and proposing plans to emigrate to Mars.
