February 10 Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Zakharova said on the 10th that NATO and the European Union are taking a new round of containment measures against Russia by publicly and the European Union.
According to Russian media reports, Zakharova said at the meeting of the Russian State Duma (Lower House of Parliament) on the same day that in order to curb Russia’s development in politics, economy, science and technology, industry and other fields, the so-called Western bloc, first of all, NATO, has adopted sanctions and political challenges against Russia.
Containment measures such as provocation and public defamation. NATO and the European Union openly and directly interfered in Russia’s internal affairs, trying to cause instability in Russia’s political situation in a way that stimulates the Russian opposition.
Zakharova said that the mastermind behind the Navalny incident was the Western countries. Their purpose was not to care about Navalny’s health, to find out the real cause of the incident, but to disrupt the situation in Russia.
Western media, supported by Western political forces, use tools such as social media to spread false information about Russia on a large scale.
Last year, NATO, the European Union and some Western governments accused Russia of using nerve agents against Russian opposition Navalny, but Russia firmly denied it and called on Western countries not to politicize the matter.
When Navalny returned to Russia from Germany on January 17 this year, Russian law enforcement agencies arrested him for violating probation regulations on many occasions.
On January 23, supporters of Navalny organized marches in several cities, including Moscow, without approval. On February 2, the Moscow City District Court sentenced Navalny to three and a half years in prison.
