Cairo, February 7 The Chinese Embassy in Egypt held a press conference on the 7th. Chinese Ambassador to Egypt, Liao Liqiang, in the form of live webcast, focused on promoting that China will provide coronavirus vaccine assistance to Egypt and the Arab League secretariat.
Liao Liqiang said at the press conference that vaccines are an important area for China-Egybolic cooperation in the fight against the pandemic. China recently decided to provide Egypt with a batch of coronavirus vaccine assistance, and is willing to facilitate Egypt’s procurement of vaccines produced by Chinese enterprises.
This move reflects the deep friendship between the heads of state of China and Egypt and the sincere feelings of the Chinese people towards the Egyptian people, which will help Egypt defeat the pandemic as soon as possible. China will also provide assistance to the Arab League secretariat with a certain number of coronavirus vaccines.
Liao Liqiang said that the virus knows no borders, and human destiny is shared. Solidarity and cooperation are the most powerful weapons to defeat the pandemic, and vaccines should not be a “luxury goods” enjoyed by a few countries. China is providing vaccine assistance to 14 developing countries and will assist 38 other developing countries in need.
China has officially joined the COVID-19 Vaccine Implementation Plan and decided to provide 10 million doses of vaccine to the Implementation Plan, mainly for the urgent needs of developing countries. China supports domestic Enterprises carry out joint research and development and cooperative production of vaccines with foreign partners.
China supports relevant enterprises to export vaccines to countries that urgently need to obtain vaccines, recognize Chinese vaccines, and have authorized the emergency use of Chinese vaccines in their own countries.
Liao Liqiang said that China will continue to provide vaccines to relevant countries, especially developing countries, to contribute to the construction of a human health community within its capabilities.
China also expects the international community to work together and take practical actions to promote the equitable distribution and use of vaccines in the world, and make positive contributions to the international community’s early victory over the pandemic.
