February 4th – A 60-year-old male anchor in Russia recently died after drinking 1.5 liters of vodka on the live broadcast.
More than 150 users witnessed the whole process.
According to the Russian media report on the 3rd, viewers rewarded Yuri Duszchkin to drink more alcohol in the YouTube studio where he was located. The live broadcast continued when Duščkin fell to the ground.
“Dushkijin drank four vodkas, and he drank 1.5 liters a day, which was obviously overdose,” one user wrote on YouTube. At present, the local police are conducting autopsy to confirm the cause of Duščkin’s death.
Russian Senator Pushkov condemned this practice on Twitter.
“It is very necessary to legally ban these streams and eradicate this phenomenon completely,” he said.
Pushkov also said that the working group of the Russian Federation Commission will meet on February 11 to prepare for a law to combat illegal streaming media.
