January 29, local time, The Hill reported that federal prosecutors this week accused two brothers from Montana of being involved in the January 6 violent attack on the Capitol, saying that the two men had chased Capitol police on the stairs on the day of the conflict.
The two were named Joshua Calvin Hughes and Jerod Wade Hughes respectively.
Court documents show that the two men surrendered to the Montana Police Department on January 11 shortly after participating in the violent attack on the Capitol.
After investigation by the FBI, it was determined that the two men had chased the Capitol police in the incident.
Moreover, the two men also entered the Senate and sat in the Senate with other protesters to look through the sensitive information stored by the senators.
Currently, the Hughes brothers face multiple charges of illegal access to the Capitol and obstruction of law enforcement, and may be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
