A spokesman for Belgium’s Minister of Health said in a statement saying that at the request of the European Commission, AstraZeneca’s vaccine plant in Belgium had been verified on the 27th to verify whether the factory had production problems.
The investigation report is expected to be released within a few days.
Earlier, AstraZeneca announced that the delivery of vaccines to the EU in the first quarter would be reduced from 80 million to 31 million doses due to production problems at a Belgian vaccine factory, causing strong dissatisfaction in the European Union.
Subsequently, the European Union asked AstraZeneca to supply the EU with vaccines produced in the United Kingdom to fill the gap.
AstraZeneca has not publicly responded to the EU’s request at present.
