January 28, the European Union updated the list of countries that open external borders again, recommending that member states open their external borders to six countries, Australia, New Zealand, Rwanda, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand, from now on.
Compared with the latest update on December 17 last year, the latest EU list excludes Japan, reducing the number of “on the list” countries from seven to six countries.
The EU continues to open its external borders to China, that is, EU member states need to open their borders to China in the case of China’s reciprocal opening of borders.
The Council of the EU has previously said that the list will be updated regularly, but it is only recommended by the EU and not mandatory.
EU member governments can refer to their specific epidemic prevention and control requirements, but they can only reduce the number of countries and cannot increase without authorization.
