January 26th local time, Italian Prime Minister Conte went to the presidential palace to submit his resignation after announcing his resignation at the Council of Ministers on the same day.
The current government led by Conte was established in September 2019 and is the 66th government of the Italian Republic.
According to local media analysis, Conte is likely to try to form a cabinet again with the support of the Five Star Movement, the Democratic Party and the Liberal and Equality Party, in order to reach an absolute majority in Parliament.
