At 8:30 local time on January 25, local police confirmed that a bus carrying 54 passengers and 2 drivers from Belém, the capital of the state of Para, to Santa Catarina, hit the wall next to the road at the turning section of the BR-376 highway in Guaratuba, Parana, southern Brazil.
After the vehicle lost control, it fell down the roadside.
At press time, the accident had killed 18 people and injured many people, 7 of whom were seriously injured.
Ambulances and helicopters from the Paraná and Santa Catarina fire brigades were responsible for the rescue of the accident.
The seriously injured were sent to the city of Curicba, the capital of Paraná, and Joinvili, Santa Catarina, for treatment.
The minor injured were sent to the city of Garua.
