January 20, local time, the tourism department of the East African Community announced that it would cooperate in the development of business and leisure travel to revitalize the tourism industry hit hard by the COVID-19 epidemic.
Tourism agencies in Kenya, Rwanda and other countries agreed and issued statements that partners are determined to cooperate to solve the challenges facing the tourism industry in the region, explore solutions and plans for the transformation of industry business, and promote tourism products in the region to new groups.
The statement also said that the tourism department will launch joint marketing activities, organize webinars, etc.
The East African Community is an intergovernmental organization composed of six countries, including Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
The area is home to extraordinary landscapes and wildlife tourism resources.
