January 20th – A family aggregation infection reappeared in the United States.
After a Pennsylvania family gathered in December 2020, 18 family members were diagnosed with COVID-19, and patients ranged from 1 to 62 years old.
According to Philadelphia WPVI TV and the Daily New York News on the 19th, the host of the family party is Darlene Reynolds, located near Millmont Park, Pennsylvania.
The day before the party, Reynolds felt a throat with a slight cough, but there was no sign of fever after several consecutive temperature measurements. So she didn’t care and continued to prepare for the party.
After the party was held as scheduled, Reynolds’s family fell ill one after another. At first, the family did not know that they were infected with the novel coronavirus, but regarded it as a common flu.
Subsequently, the Reynolds and his son and daughter tested positive for COVID-19, and their husband and son were hospitalized. In the super-transmission incident, the Reynolds family infected with the novel coronavirus, and the ages of patients ranged from 1 to 62.
As of January 19, Pennsylvania had reported more than 777,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to data released on the Pennsylvania Department of Health website. According to Johns Hopkins University, nearly 19,500 people have died of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania.
According to U.S. media, the cumulative number of deaths from COVID-19 worldwide is 2 million, while the number of deaths in the United States has exceeded 400,000, which is equivalent to one in five deaths in the United States.
