According to the Russian Satellite News Agency on January 17, Japanese Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato said on Fuji News Network (FNN) that Japanese authorities still plan to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer.
Katshino Kato made this statement a few days after an interview with Reuters reporters during the online meeting, former Japanese Defense Minister and current Minister of Administrative Reform and Civil Service Reform.
In an interview, Taro Kono pointed out that “any result about the fate of the Tokyo Summer Olympics” cannot be ruled out.
In response to the comments, Katsnobu Kato stressed: “We have determined the venue and timetable of the Olympic Games.
Those involved in the preparation will continue their efforts, including preventing the spread of the virus.”
The Olympic and Paralympic Games scheduled for the summer of 2020 in Tokyo has been postponed for a full year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Japan is preparing for the Olympics and stresses that the Olympics must be safe and become “a symbol of mankind’s victory over the novel coronavirus”.
The current Olympic Games are supposed to be held from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
