An anti-government website called “Tree of Freedom” in Montreal, Canada, was shut down by OVH, the cloud service provider of the website, on the morning of the 13th local time because the website supported the “Boogaloo” movement in the United States.
OVH said in a statement that it had begun to investigate the website on the 12th.
The website has been suspended for now, and the company’s contract with the website customers has been terminated.
The so-called “Bugaloo” movement is a radical organization that incites the Second American Civil War, and its followers are also supporters of the gun movement.
According to a report by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) on the 13th, many supporters of the radical organization have been charged with violent crimes such as murder, attempted murder and shooting at the police.
Social networking sites such as Facebook in the United States have closed thousands of accounts related to the movement and banned searches for “bangaloo”-related words. Starting in September 2020, Freedom Tree has received cloud services from a multinational company called OVH, which is headquartered in France and has a branch in Montreal.
According to the FBI, several organizations in the United States plan to hold a protest before the transfer of power of the President of the United States on January 20.
The website “Liberty Tree” encouraged its supporters to take up arms on Sunday, January 17 to launch a protest in the capitals of 50 states across the United States.
