As of noon today (10th) local time, the thickness of snow in Kamietsu City, Niigata Prefecture exceeded 200 cm, and the snow in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture reached 125 centimeters.

Some houses collapsed due to snow. According to the TV station of the Japan Broadcasting Association, so far, bad weather has killed two people.

At least 76 people in Niigata Prefecture fell down or were injured during snow sweeping; 34 people in Toyama Prefecture were injured by bad weather.

The Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts that the snow in Niigata, Fukui and Toyama Prefectures is expected to continue until the 12th, reminding the public to pay attention to safety.
