Mexico City, January 9 Claudia Hinbaum, mayor of Mexico’s capital, said on the 9th that a fire broke out at a rail transit facility in the city that day, killing one person, injuring at least 30 people and suspending six rail transit lines.
Hinbaum said in an interview with the media that morning, a rail transit control center in Mexico caught fire, and firefighters arrived and controlled the fire.
The fire killed one security guard and injured many others. It is preliminarily judged that the fire is caused by the failure of transformers and other facilities.
Hinbaum said that the fire control center is responsible for controlling the operation of multiple rail transits in the city. For safety reasons, the operation of six lines has been suspended.
The government uses other public transportation and police vehicles to transfer passengers. There has never been such a mass transit shutdown in Mexico City before.
