New Zealand Labor Party and Green Party form a new government
On November 1, local time, New Zealand Labor Party leader Jacinda Ardern and the two
Green Party co-leaders formally signed an agreement to form a new government.
Ardern was re-elected as Prime Minister of New Zealand, and the two leaders of the
Green Party will also serve as ministers of the new government.
On October 17, the New Zealand Labor Party won 64 of the 120 seats in the
National Assembly and won a landslide victory.
It could have been in power alone, but the Labor Party chose to
form a coalition government with the Green Party.
